At last the UK Government has implemented change for the benefit of small businesses and freelancers.

In response to improvements in how the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act is implemented, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Policy Chair, Tina McKenzie, was reported as saying:

“Paying in 60 days is not prompt - but strengthening that as the absolute maximum cap after years of dithering is a good step towards encouraging payments in 30 days across all supply chains."

What next?

Will the UK Government finally get around to reducing so-called 'red tape' for small businesses and freelancers?

All we see here is an increase in the plethora of rules and regulations.

More time spent on adhering to these by hard-pressed small businesses means they have less time in which to contribute to UK GDP (gross domestic product or national output)!
